Pan frying bacon on the stove can be messy and full of splatters, which can be dangerous when you have littles roaming about. Try this professional chef technique that yields perfectly crisp bacon every time – and simplifies cleanup without skimping on flavor.
Here’s how you do it:
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil, folding sides up to create a small moat. Spray a cookie cooling rack the same size as the pan on both sides with nonstick cooking spray. Place it on the foil moat.
- Lay the bacon side by side (it’s OK if it overlaps) on the rack. Bake in a preheated 375-degree F oven, turning once throughout process until brown and crisp, about 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and drain bacon on paper towels.
- Turn the oven off, crack and allow baking sheet and foil to cool down. Once cooled, roll up the foil and discard. The cookie rack will also have easy cleanup due to the nonstick cooking spray!
Have your bacon an eat it too!
